General donation funds are used for various administrative costs(e.g. legal fees, website costs, phone, etc.), to support GCUE members from less developed regions to attend GCUE related events and to support specific projects based on recommendations from the Executive Council.
GCUE has no paid employees, all administrative work is done on a volunteer basis.

Project Specific Donations
AchiaseCommunity Project (GCUE – Ghana)
We are currently fund raising for the Achiase, Ghana School Project (which will serve as a model for other projects in rural Ghana.)
The Achiase region, is a community of 21 villages (75 kilometers north of Ghana’s capitol Accra). The region has a total population of around 3000 people with 1000 of these being children.
Currently the children do not go to school. The nearest school is 5 kilometers away and school age children in the village are not able to walk that distance (total of 10 km/day) to school every day. And there is not a transportation system available to transport them.
The main chief and the sub-chiefs of Achiase, speaking for the community, have identified the establishment of a school as their top priority.
The community is largely a subsistence economy so it has very little in the way of money resources. They do have available land and a willingness to provide the labor to clear the land and build the school. But funds are needed to design the school, prepare the building site and purchase the building materials.
Our target is to raise $10,000. Contributions of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
